Pam Pam’s unique eye coloration is due to a medical condition called heterochromia iridis. This condition causes abnormalities in the iris, which results in one eye having a different color than the other. Another type of heterochromia, known as segmental heterochromia, causes different colors within the same eye. Heterochromia can be caused by genetic inheritance, inbreeding, or mutation. Interestingly, some cat breeds, such as the Turkish Angora, consider heterochromia to be a desirable trait that breeders aim to maintain.
