On Sunday evening, inspectors from Poland’s National Veterinary Research Institute (DIOZ) were alerted to a case of animal abuse in Kostrzyca. The inspectors found a dog named Frank, barely alive and in cruel conditions, being held by a nurse employed at the hospital in Bukowiec. Frank was in a terrible state, with protruding ribs, putrid wounds, festering eyes, and a crude chain. His body was infested with fleas, and his caretakers had been feeding him chicken bones that were ground up.

Despite Frank’s deplorable condition, his abusers claimed that he was between 16 and 20 years old, attempting to excuse their despicable treatment of him. DIOZ inspectors intervened and sent Frank to the emergency room for treatment. Doctors caring for Frank have declared his condition to be an extreme case of neglect, leaving him barely able to walk and looking like a walking skeleton.

Animal abusers in Poland can face up to three years in prison for their actions, and this case is no exception. We must all come together to fight for Frank’s survival and put an end to his suffering. Animal lovers are called upon to support Frank’s treatment and recovery.

The sight of an innocent animal suffering at the hands of those who are meant to care for them is heart-wrenching. The road to recovery is often long and difficult, as seen in past cases of animal abuse. However, with the help of dedicated professionals and a community of animal lovers, these animals can and do make miraculous recoveries.

It is up to us to support Frank in his journey towards healing. Every small contribution counts, and together, we can make a difference in Frank’s life.
