What went down

The Boston Celtics had themselves a night, making history in front of their home crowd when they scored 155 points against the Indiana Pacers.

The last time that happened was in the 1958-59 season. Red Auerbach was still the coach and Boston only had one championship to show for.

Leading the charge for the Celtics was Jayson Tatum, who had 30 points and 12 rebounds and didn’t even need to play in the fourth quarter with the game out of reach for the Pacers.

Seven other players scored in double figures for Boston, who remain unbeaten in four games.

Out West, the Golden State Warriors escaped their NoCal rivals, the Sacramento Kings, behind a 17-footer from Klay Thomson with less than a second remaining.

Thompson finished with 14 points, but it was Curry who paced the Dubs with 21 points, including two baskets in the final minute that helped set up Thompson’s game-winner.

The win gave Golden State their fourth win in five games.

Big-time ballers

Dennis Schroder has been putting up impressive numbers since he moved to Toronto. And in the Raptors’ win over the Milwaukee Bucks, he balled out.

Schroder had 24 points, winning the duel with Bucks star Damian Lillard, who only finished with 15. He shot 9-of-13 from the field and tallied 11 assists and a steal.

Seems like Toronto isn’t missing Fred VanVleet after all.

But the biggest baller today was LeBron James, who had 35 points on 13-of-19 shots, 11 rebounds, seven assists, a steal, and two blocks in the Lakers’ overtime win over the Clippers. Washed up King, they say?

What he said

Bill Simmons isn’t wrong. The Bucks are the second-worst team in the league in defensive rating (119) and give up the most fast break points (21.5) per game.

Having Lillard helps their offense, but Milwaukee is seeing the effects of losing a great defender like Jrue Holiday. The Bucks have to do something with their defense this early if they have title aspirations.
